Job Description
- Build supporting cradles for drydocking vessels. Position, dock build, keel blocks, bilge blocks and other structures where the vessel will rest when water is pumped from graving dock utilizing optical equipment.
- Establish during construction and repair various reference points and lines for use in various trades in locating hull parts, machinery and other equipment and fittings relating to the overall ship alignment, shape, and balance.
- Must have a working knowledge of types of scaffolding systems that will be installed on various shipboard applications as well as in facilities and equipment.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 year(s) of working experience is required.
- No minimum educational attainment is required for this position.
- High school diploma (may be foreign equivalent), 1 year of experience as a shipwright carpenter in a shipyard environment.
